In this section I outline some core policy proposals that support the mayoral vision.

I call these "proposals" because the Mayor of Auckland does not have the power to develop and implement policies in isolation. All policy decisions made by the Auckland Council must conform to the requirements for Planning, decision-making, and accountability set out in the Local Government Act 2002, including the requirements for public consultation. Then they must be voted on and accepted by a majority of elected councillors.

So I offer these proposals for your consideration, without making extravagant promises, aware they will have to be further developed, discussed, consulted on and finally agreed by the Governing Body of Auckland Council before they can be implemented.
